About Lacamas Counseling
Healing for Individuals and Relationships
At Lacamas Counseling we seek to bring healing, restoration, and peace to the individuals, couples, and families that we encounter. We believe that no one should have to face life’s problems alone. We provide support to our clients, equip and empower them with coping skills, and help them to build other additional resources and relationships in their own life.
Specializations
Our counselors offer diverse specialties and are trained in providing counseling support to address depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, anger, trauma, abuse, grief, parenting support, couples distress, sexual addictions/pornography, postpartum distress, life transitions, identity enrichment, and more.
Each counselor developed their own specializations through hours of study, experience, supervision, and consultation regarding certain populations, needs, or areas of interest. The hours of exposure provide insight into the patterns, thoughts, emotions, coping skills, and resources that apply to each need.
Diversity
At Lacamas Counseling we honor and respect each of our clients – who they are, lifestyle choices and where they are in their lives. We aim to practice inclusivity in all life domains including, but not limited to: sexuality, gender identity, gender expression, age, race, religion/spirituality, economic resources, status, and vocation.
We believe it is an honor to work with the individuals, families, and couples who come through our doors and value each person’s autonomy and mutual respect. If you have specific questions regarding your care or a best fit for you, please contact Lacamas Counseling for a referral or you can directly contact the individual counselor you are interested in working with.
Professional and Competent
The counselors at Lacamas Counseling are all fully-trained, professional, and licensed to practice in the state of Washington. Each counselor was required to complete their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, including professional internships and training opportunities under the supervision of trained and licensed counseling supervisors.
In addition to completing the necessary requirements for licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington, some counselors continued to meet additional requirements for other licenses or specializations. We maintain professionalism and competence through colleague consultation, networking with community partners, and continuing education.
Healthy Counselors
We believe that who we are as people is the key to our healing relationships with our clients. We personally challenge each other to stay emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy. This allows us to continue in the work that we love and provide the best possible care to our clients.
Serving Our Community
We offer our knowledge and experience not only through counseling services but also through providing community presentations, writing blogs and articles, and creating podcasts. We hope that these resources are helpful to our clients as well as the community of Camas, Washougal, and East Vancouver.
