Training and Background

Angela received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon and her
Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute. She holds a Mental Health Counselor
Associate License in Washington.

Angela uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which focuses on changing thoughts, behaviors, and coping
strategies. She believes attachment with significant others early in life plays an important role in a
person’s view of self as well as how a person relates with others. When working with children she uses
Play Therapy where children can act out feelings and explore problems they’re having. She has many
years of experience in working with children in various settings. She has worked with children and
adolescents for the last three years in a local school district.

Angela is an out-of-network provider and is able to provide superbills (“therapy receipts”) to any client who wishes to use his/her out-of-network benefits.

When exploring your out-of-network benefits, you may want to ask your insurance carrier about the policy/coverage for an out-of-network provider, deductible, rate of reimbursement, number of sessions authorized per year, process for obtaining reimbursement, and if prior-authorization is required.

Electing to pay completely out of pocket allows you the most privacy and control of your treatment. Your records remain free from any audit or compliance check. You maintain the most flexibility and control in deciding the session frequency, longevity, content, and interventions. Insurances are not informed of any applicable mental health diagnosis.

Your reasons for seeking counseling probably include much personal information about your life, work, marriage, kids, and mental health issues. Private pay providers are better able to protect your health information with the greatest degree of privacy.
