About Ashley as a Counselor
Ashley is a LICSWA at Lacamas Counseling. She is able to provide in-person counseling in Camas, WA or online counseling for Washington residents. Ashley is under the direct supervision of Morgan Thornton, PsyD.
Ashley has an empathetic and understanding approach that allows her clients to feel seen, valued, respected and heard. She values her client’s perspectives and incorporates the perception of their challenges into her sessions, making it easy for her clients to feel safe sharing and working towards healing. Ashley helps clients with recognizing strengths and identifying core beliefs. She may incorporate play, sand tray and creative arts to assist in processing through problems and healing from trauma. Ashley has a heart for helping children and youth with ADHD, trauma and anxiety and supporting them in navigating the emotional and behavioral effects it has on their daily functioning and family dynamics.
Ashley’s passion for counseling youth comes from more than 12 years of volunteering and working alongside children and their families. Ashley uses her knowledge gained from studying Play Therapy, Early Childhood Development, and Social Work. She understands the impact of developmental (physical and cognitive), environmental and academic challenges youth are experiencing and the effect it has on their mental health and daily functioning.
