About Emma as a Counselor
Emma is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon. She is able to provide in person counseling in Camas, WA or online counseling to both Washington and Oregon residents.
Emma honors the uniqueness of each person and strives to bring a holistic, kind and hopeful presence during the process of therapy. She has a gentle and welcoming presence that helps create a safe environment for her clients to open up at their pace. Emma believes that it is a privilege to walk alongside people and highly values the therapeutic relationship in her work with clients.
She is passionate about helping people explore and heal from their pasts while also discovering purpose, meaning and empowerment in their lives. Emma has experience in working with a wide range of people including children, teens, families, and individuals working on issues related to PTSD, complex trauma, grief and loss, parenting, anxiety, depression, identity issues and more.
Training and Background
Additionally, she has several years of prior work experience supporting children and families in a residential psychiatric facility and working with homeless teenage girls. She also has experience counseling individuals in a community mental health setting and a private group practice setting on a variety of issues including PTSD, complex trauma, grief and loss, faith issues, parenting issues, anxiety, depression, and identity issues. Emma also has experience leading psychoeducational and group processing therapy groups.

Emma is an out-of-network provider and is able to provide superbills (“therapy receipts”) to any client who wishes to use his/her out-of-network benefits with all other commercial insurance carriers.
When exploring your out-of-network benefits, ask your insurance about the deductible, reimbursement, and process for submitting superbills.
Counselors and providers are better able to protect your personal and health information with the greatest degree of privacy when you pay privately for your services without using insurance. Your records remain free from any audit or compliance check. You have the most flexibility and control in deciding the session frequency, longevity, content, and interventions. Mental health diagnoses are not provided to your insurance.

Additional Information
Emma is a wife and mom to two young kids. She enjoys many different outdoor activities, especially those in the mountains and at the coast. She also enjoys reading, art journaling and spending time with valued friends and family. Although Emma does not impose her own beliefs onto her clients, she is able to provide Christian faith integration for any client that desires this as part of their work together.
