About Grace as a Counselor

Grace is a Licensed Mental Health Counseling Associate in Washington and a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is able to provide in person counseling in Camas, WA or
online counseling for Washington and Oregon residents.

As a professional musician for over twenty years, Grace knows that there is not just one way of interpreting a situation, understands the value of actively listening to other’s impulses and musical intentions, and knows that there are many paths to creating beauty and meaning. She enjoys bringing her strong logical and artistic strengths to the field of therapy and counseling and honors the personal growth path that resonates with each individual client. No matter what the context, Grace seeks to build an environment that empowers individuals to find therapies that resonate with their own strengths, comforts, and emotional needs. She strives to interact with each client compassionately, openly, and honestly—regardless of their sexuality, gender, culture, or spiritual lens.

Training and Background

Grace has worked and volunteered in a variety of situations and sees all of her life experiences as a beautiful tapestry. From her work as group facilitator with The Prison Practicum for Spiritual Direction, to her work in couples counseling and pre-marriage preparation, to work strengthening relationship and communities through the lens of the Enneagram, Grace has continued to grow her own tools as a therapist in response to the needs of her clients.

She is a trained EMDR therapist, Gottman Level 1, and a trained Prepare and Enrich facilitator. She is an Enneagram facilitator and a spiritual director. She utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach including aspects of IFS, CBT, personality theory, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR.

Grace received her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary. She received her Bachelors and Masters of Music in Viola performance from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

Grace is able to offer supervisory billing under her direct supervisor in order to offer in-network benefits and rates for clients with Kaiser Permanente NW Commercial and PacificSource Commercial Insurance.

Grace is an out-of-network provider and is able to provide superbills (“therapy receipts”) to any client who wishes to use his/her out-of-network benefits with all other commercial insurance carriers.

When exploring your out-of-network benefits, ask your insurance about the deductible, reimbursement, and process for submitting superbills.

Counselors and providers are better able to protect your personal and health information with the greatest degree of privacy when you pay privately for your services without using insurance. Your records remain free from any audit or compliance check. You have the most flexibility and control in deciding the session frequency, longevity, content, and interventions. Mental health diagnoses are not provided to your insurance.

Additional Information

Grace has been married for 30 years and has two adult daughters. Having recently moved to the Pacific Northwest from Michigan, Grace enjoys adventures in exploring the diverse landscapes of the area, from coast to mountain to cave. Transitioning from life as a full-time, professional musician to a counselor, Grace continues to make music with her husband and daughters.
