Jacob works with individuals experiencing trauma, depression, and anxiety, as well as couples navigating relational conflict. He understands that despite efforts to manage these challenges alone, they can continue to impact daily life, relationships, and overall peace of mind. Whether working with adults, teens, or couples, Jacob is committed to providing support on the path to healing.
Jacob believes that therapy is a process of meeting individuals where they are, offering a safe and non-judgmental space to navigate life’s difficulties. By working with different parts of the self, therapy can help create an inner system of healing and stability.

Training and Background

Jacob is a Marine Corps veteran who brings both personal and professional experience to his work as a mental health counselor. After completing his service, he pursued his passion for helping others by earning a Bachelors in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.

Jacob is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that helps clients process distressing memories and experiences. He also incorporates Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support clients in exploring and strengthening their motivation for change. In his work with couples, Jacob utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to foster deeper emotional connections, improve communication, and promote relational healing.

All appointments must be scheduled in advance

Jacob is able to offer supervisory billing under his direct supervisor in order to offer in-network benefits and rates for clients with Kaiser Permanente NW Commercial Insurance and PacificSource Commercial Insurance.

Jacob is an out-of-network provider and is able to provide superbills (“therapy receipts”) to any client who wishes to use his/her out-of-network benefits with all other commercial insurance carriers.

When exploring your out-of-network benefits, ask your insurance about the deductible, reimbursement, and process for submitting superbills.

Counselors and providers are better able to protect your personal and health information with the greatest degree of privacy when you pay privately for your services without using insurance. Your records remain free from any audit or compliance check. You have the most flexibility and control in deciding the session frequency, longevity, content, and interventions. Mental health diagnoses are not provided to your insurance.

When he is not counseling, Jacob enjoys outdoor activities such as shed hunting, fly fishing, and camping with his family. Jacob is passionate about veteran advocacy and loves helping veterans find resources to get them help and much deserved benefits.
