About Caitlyn as a Counselor

Caitlyn Melott is a Master’s Student Intern. She provides in person counseling in Camas, WA or online counseling for Washington and Oregon residents.

Caitlyn provides a safe space for individuals to explore the multiple facets within their lives. She is highly empathic and creates an atmosphere of non-judgmental positive regard. Caitlyn empowers clients to be their whole, true self during sessions to create real change within their lives. Caitlyn mainly uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to discuss current needs and establish realistic goals. She also enjoys utilizing some Psychoanalytic therapy techniques when appropriate such as examining unconscious motivators, dream analysis, and free association.

Caitlyn enjoys working with individuals who are struggling with stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, and work-life balance. Empowering clients to understand their own worth within the session is one of the main goals of Caitlyn’s approach to counseling. Her counseling method is calm and gentle, creating an inviting atmosphere where clients feel comfortable to share.

Caitlyn is completing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University with an anticipated graduation date of August 2024. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Multnomah University in Psychology. Her theoretical approach to counseling is an integrative approach that combines techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
