About Caitlyn as a Counselor

Caitlyn Melott is a Master’s Student Intern. She provides in person counseling in Camas, WA or online counseling for Washington and Oregon residents.

Caitlyn provides a safe space for individuals to explore the multiple facets within their lives. She is highly empathic and creates an atmosphere of non-judgmental positive regard. Caitlyn empowers clients to be their whole, true self during sessions to create real change within their lives. Caitlyn mainly uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to discuss current needs and establish realistic goals. She also enjoys utilizing some Psychoanalytic therapy techniques when appropriate such as examining unconscious motivators, dream analysis, and free association.

Caitlyn enjoys working with individuals who are struggling with stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, and work-life balance. Empowering clients to understand their own worth within the session is one of the main goals of Caitlyn’s approach to counseling. Her counseling method is calm and gentle, creating an inviting atmosphere where clients feel comfortable to share.

Training

Caitlyn is completing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University with an anticipated graduation date of August 2024. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Multnomah University in Psychology. Her theoretical approach to counseling is an integrative approach that combines techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She is a certified pre-marital counselor and a facilitator of the SYMBIS assessment.

Rates

$90 – 50 minute Individual Counseling
$110 – 50 minute Couples Counseling
$120 – 50 minute Diagnostic Assessment

*Limited Reduced Rate Scholarships are available upon request

Caitlyn is an out-of-network provider and as a student intern is not eligible to submit superbills to clients for insurance reimbursement.

Counselors and providers are better able to protect your personal and health information with the greatest degree of privacy when you pay privately for your services without using insurance. Your records remain free from any audit or compliance check. You have the most flexibility and control in deciding the session frequency, longevity, content, and interventions. Mental health diagnoses are not provided to your insurance.

Additional Information

Caitlyn enjoys reading fantasy books, baking, crocheting, and trying new coffee shops in her free time. However, her favorite pastime is lounging on the couch with her cat, Sweet Pea. When it is nice out, she enjoys painting landscapes and clouds, whether she is at a park, in the forest, or at the beach. She often takes trips to the beach in order to unwind, read, and enjoy the scenery. Caitlyn has a Christian worldview and would be happy to incorporate spiritual aspects upon request.
