About Priscilla as a Therapist
Priscilla Gilbert is the owner of Lacamas Counseling. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington (LH 60463811) and an Approved Supervisor in Washington.
Priscilla is friendly and comfortable. She cares greatly about people. She is welcoming and non-judgemental, offering support and challenges to lead to optimal growth. Priscilla is a big fan of utilizing other resources and recommendations that could benefit the client; like books, podcasts, websites, medical care, physical therapists, or anything else that is relevant to client care.
Priscilla specializes in perinatal & postpartum mental health; as well as working with adults through depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, burnout, and personal identity work. Priscilla finds joy in helping people create balance in their lives, live intentionally with who they are, and create authentic community.
Training
Priscilla has a Master of Arts in Counseling with a Child & Youth Specialization from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. Priscilla has a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.
Priscilla was originally trained in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Priscilla has completed training and continuing education in working with postpartum distress.

Additional Information
Priscilla welcomes invitations to lead presentations in the community about a variety of topics including postpartum transitions, coping skills, parenting, grief, trauma, mental health, resiliency, and planning for the future.
Priscilla seeks to increase community awareness about mental health and life issues through writing blogs and articles, leading community presentations, advocating, networking, and training other professionals. Priscilla is very active in continuing her professional growth through continual use of audiobooks, books, podcasts, and continuing education.
Priscilla is a wife and mom. She has three young children that give great joy and challenge. Priscilla values relationships and spending time with friends and family. Priscilla also spends a lot of free time outdoors doing yardwork, gardening, or backyard campfires. Priscilla participates in a local Christian church and is able to incorporate a Christian faith perspective into counseling for any client that desires faith integration.
